I have been looking on the wiki and decided i want to get the kurzick elite armor for my Ele.
the problem is i am in a luxon faction guild. I havn't started factions campain yet. Is there an easy way to get to get this armor? |

Well, first you have to run through the Factions campaign, or at least down to the Armory, which you can reach after completing the Eternal Grove mission. Then you will certaily need the items required for the armor (including lots of amber chunks) and some more Kurzick factions available on your account then Luxon, otherwis the armorer will not craft the amror for you.
Hm, that's all, I think. |

as it happens i have not gained any faction one way or the other as a character. just that the guild i joined is a luxon guild. does this have any effect? |

you will get some faction on your way there, if you re gonna do kurzick part to get kurzick armor, its highly probable you will get more kurzick faction than luxon on your way there
the guild you re in influences only which type of faction you can trade for scrolls/mats/skills/alliance faction |

Not at all.
You just have to have more untransfered Kurzick factions on your account than Luxon, or else you cannot do business with Kurzick NPCs (merchants, rune traders etc.) |

Right so just get 5K more "L" than "K" and trade that in for your Guild or amber....and then get your armor.

You won't be able to trade in your Guild Hall though, you'll need to go to a factions NPC in one of the outposts.
If you want to farm your factions in ab, you'll have to ask a guest invite from a kurzick guild. |

"Befriending the Kurzicks" is a quest you need to complete to be able to enter the next mission (Eternal Grove). You will meet a similar quest called "Befriending the Luxons" when you are doing the Luxon side of the campaign.
The task is not that difficult: you are simply to collect 10k unspent factions, which you can do by asking for bounties at shrines and doing some quests. |

The only thing that your guild affects is what faction you are allowed to donate to your guild.
All other faction related things only take into account your unspent faction. |

use up all your luxon factions than go work for the kurzicks. do quests, JQ, AB, Vanquish(with blessing of the Kurzicks) and you should be set in terms of amber.

No, not really. If you're interested in completely filling the Shiro Returns book to get max Luxon faction when you turn it in, or if you're interested in getting any accomplishment titles for Cantha (Protector, Cartographer, Vanquisher, etc.), you must do the Kurzick missions as well as the Luxon missions. So you would have access to the Armory and a pile of Kurzick faction in any event. The effort is only extra if you were going to skip the titles or the book and just follow the Luxon side. Even then, if you join a guild that may end up owning a Kurzick town, you would need to have done the Kurzick side to have access to it.
